She’s been in several feature films, tapped into the 3D Animation films and gives back to children fighting cancer like she did. We were lucky enough to get a full interview which you can check out below!
1. What is your favorite subject in school?
Reading, I love reading. Its something i excel in and it takes you to places that you have never been and want to go. It tells you about history and what happened in the past so that you can feel that you are a part of it.
It enables you to explore worlds that you might never get to go to but be part of that world.
2. If you could visit any country in the world where would you go?
I would love to go to Ireland, and visit the castles in the countryside. I have always wanted to live even for just a day in a castle setting and think of what it would be like to have defended a castle back in the days of Knights and Queens.
3. How long have you been in the acting business?
I started out modeling at the age of 6 and was on my first production at 7. It was a Disney commercial for Saving A Manatee and from there, it just happened. I have never stopped except for the time I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Burkitts Lymphoma ( Cancer )
4. What has been your favorite role?
I still feel that my best and most likeable role was “Bella” in The Sparrows Nesting. It stars Kevin Sorbo, Christopher Atkins and i was the focal point of the story. I received my first supporting nomination for it and my first win. If is on ITunes and Amazon Prime right now.
5. We understand that you beat Leukemia at the age of 10. How were you able to stay positive and strong throughout your experience?
I knew that a good attitude was the most important thing you had, also my faith in God and my family. I had support from a lot of different people and that helped me to push and keep pushing. My favorite saying is “Never Give Up, and Never Give In”
You can win and you can beat cancer. Don’t ever doubt yourself and your strength inside that you have.
6. What advice do you have for readers who may be experiencing or know someone who is suffering from cancer.
The one and only piece of advise is that you must never give up. Sure its hard, its the hardest thing you will have ever encountered and most likely the hardest thing the rest of your life but, you just have to tell yourself that you can beat it. YOU have a right to live. For those that know of people fighting cancer, always give them encouragement and NEVER let them see you doubting. Its ok to feel bad for them but dont treat them any differently. We might be fighting but that does not make us any different then you. In fact, most children that i know that are fighting cancer dont want pity. We dont want you to treat us any differently then you do others.
7. Why did you get involved in Beads of Courage and what have you accomplished?
I got involved with them and many more cancer organizations like BASE Camp in Central Florida and Make A Wish because they help children that are fighting cancer and other life threatening illness;s Its because they give courage and strength to us by having us concentrate on courage and love and hope. Thats what we all need and we gain a better outlook knowing there are people behind us. For me, i love giving back to children and taking the time to get to know others. The one thing i can remember when i was going through my battle is that people cared. I care and in that i go and speak out for others that may not have a voice. I enjoy helping others know about cancer and how to feel and how you can overcome and win. Its something i feel i was born to do. Its something i will do for the rest of my life.
8. What is your biggest career goal?
I want to be an actress that people look up to and see a winner. I want others to see that even though your life gets hit with something that alters it, you can come out on top and still live a productive life. I want other children to look up and say. She beat cancer, she went on to live her life and to be an example for others.
9. Where can we follow you?
