The Echo

By Isabelle Miles

echo-poem

After the last goodbye waves,
The echo of my lone voice,
Resounds through the caves,
Such a lonely sound.

My echo ringing back to me,
In a world all alone,
The emptiness fills my heart like a rushing sea,
Such a lonely sound.

I wish I could go back to you,
My loved ones, far away,
I hear my voice solitary and blue,
Such a lonely sound.

I think of you my friends,
As I stand alone and weep,
The sound of my lost voice winds and bends,
Such a lonely sound.

The echo of my voice will never end,
While deserted and alone I stand,
I fear my soul will never mend,
Such a lonely sound.
