Switching Schools? We got you!

Moving to a new school this year? Changing schools is a big deal, so what’s the best way to face it?

In the latest book from the “Upside-Down Magic” series, weird and wonderful things happen when you’re sent off to public school . . . and put in the Upside-Down Magic class! Can this class of magical misfits survive their first-ever overnight field trip?

Nory also has to switch to new school and we see that it isn’t as bad as you might think! While you can’t prepare for every challenge you’re going to face, you can learn to get better at dealing with change itself.

  1. Instead of imagining what could wrong, think about what could go right.

See yourself being ready, happy and confident about joining a new school.

  1. It’s okay to miss your old teachers, friends and school building. Call or text them after school to relive some memories, but do your best to stay present in the new school you’re in.

  1. It’s normal feel nervous, shy and scared, but remember that you’re not the only one changing schools.

  1. On your first day, make sure your wear the outfit you are most comfortable in and put on a confident smile. Sometimes you have to fake it ‘till ya make it! But BE YOU because you want to find friends who like you for you.

Here are helpful some quotes:

  • “You’re off to great places. Today is your day. Your mountain is waiting so get on your way!”- Dr. Seuss

  • “And so the next big adventure begins!”

  • “I’m not telling you it’s going to be easy, I’m telling you it’s going to worth it!”

  • “Everyone wants HAPPINESS, no one wants PAIN, But you can’t make a RAINBOW, without a little rain.”

So, best of luck enjoying your new school and may you meet lots of kind-hearted friends!
