Quick Ways to Get Rid of Stress

Do you ever get stressed out? As in, really stressed out? You’ve got five projects to finish for school, two tests to study for, friendship drama to worry about. You’re not getting enough sleep and feel tired at school. You don’t even have time to do the stuff you want to do, like hanging out with your friends and family.

Here’s how to deal with stress-and get rid of it!

  • Get your most important priorities taken care of first. Make a mental list of what you need to get done, and finish those things before your free time. If you have a lot of homework, get started as soon as you get home. If you have a test coming up, study for it before inviting your friend over. It might be hard at first, but the good news is: You’ll feel AMAZING.

  • Don’t fill up every single minute of your schedule. Extracurricular activities and sports are fun, but do you really need to do that much? If you have absolutely no time for yourself after school, you might want to think about what you want to do. If you love ice-skating and it makes you feel happy, then keep it! But if it’s boring and just a schedule-filling activity, you might want to quit. Talk to your mom or dad.

    Once you clear out what doesn’t matter to you, you get more time to do what you actually want to.

  • What do you really, really like to do? Writing? Singing? Playing the guitar? Designing dresses? Running?

    Make a list of 2-3 things you absolutely love to do. Then, give yourself time to do them every week. You’ll feel happier and better at dealing with stress.

  • Stay organized! Clean out your backpack and your locker. Keep your desk tidy (or at least, make sure you know where everything is)! It’ll help you find what you need and help you get stuff done faster.

  • Keep one night a week free. This is your night: time to just chill and relax, hang out with friends & family, and have fun.
