“The inspiration for my song is inspired by all the powerful women in my life, from my mom, my grandma, aunts, cousins and friends.”
Isabella Leon started singing at the age of 4 when she sang “Castle on the Cloud” from Les Misérables for a talent show (and she won 1st place!) Since then she’s earned an impressive career in film, television, and local theater productions. She even released her single “Dance with Me”, on iTunes and Spotify. It’s all about girl power and being independent. During her first 5 years in her acting career she appeared on Life in Pieces, Modern Family, Street Ships, The Dog that saved Easter, commercials and short films to name a few. In the future, she hopes to use her success in the music industry to inspire other children to accomplish their goals and dreams.
Needless to say we’re lucky to have her as a Miss O & Friends Ambassador!
Check out her interview below to read more about her impressive career in the entertainment industry:
1. Are you more of a morning person or a night owl?
I would say I am more of a night owl, I love to stay up and paint and watch YouTube videos.
2. If you could have any animal as a tame pet what would it be?
Oh my goodness, I love all animals. My dream is to have a farm someday, I would want to have only rescue animals. If I had to pick I would want an Elephant, they are very loving and kind.
3. What is the best type of candy?
All candy! Except black licorice. It’s my Grandmas favorite, but never has been mine.
4. Who or what never fails to make you happy?
5. What is the best part of your day?
All day, but for some reason 2 p.m always holds a special time for me.
6. What was your first acting role versus your last (and how has your acting changed?)
My first acting role was a yogurt commercial, I loved it because all I I did was played in the park all day. (I was 5 years old) Wow, My last one was a Horror film, I have grown in my acting in so many areas because of my age and experiences. And all the acting coaches that I have worked with in the past 6 years. They have shared their passion with me and I will be forever grateful. I learn more each day!
7. Take us through the moment you decided you wanted to be a singer.
When I was 4 years old, I was on stage singing “Castle on the Cloud” from Les Misérables. I won 1st place at a local talent show, it was so exciting to see everyone’s reaction to my singing. After that night I just knew I wanted to pursue this further.
8. Who are your singing/ acting inspirations?
My singing inspirations, I have so many, but to just name a few Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, Patsy Cline, Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas. My acting inspiration, oh my goodness I have also so many! My favorite actress is Millie Bobby Brown, her performance of “Eleven”on the set of “Stranger Things” is amazing and she so caring towards her fans. It would be one of my dreams to work alongside her.
9. What’s the story behind “Dance with Me”?
The inspiration for my song is inspired by all the powerful women in my life, from my mom, my grandma, aunts, cousins and friends. My music video featured one of my friends, Nicole Lemus, who I met on this app called Tik Tok. Nicole was being bullied online while broadcasting live on the app. After I saw all the hateful comments, I knew I had to stick up for her, little did I know a friendship would blossom from this. I was so happy she was able to represent girl power in my music video.
10. Do you have any upcoming projects we can get a sneak peak of?
I recently worked on a film called “BITS” and it was directed by one of my favorite directors, Mr. Edward Payson. I worked alongside Najarra Townsend, from the horror movie,”Contracted” and Dee Wallace who played one of the most iconic mothers, Mary, in the movie E.T. In fact, Dee wallace was the victim of my first onscreen punch, rumor has it that I actually made contact. I absolutely love working on the set of horror films especially when working with such an amazing director, cast and crew. I also, just booked a new project that I am SO excited about with Disney, I can’t wait to share with everyone in the near future!
11. What do you like most about the Girl2Girl App?
What I like most about the Girl2Girl App, is how it is a safe place for girls all around the world where they can come together and empower each other.
