Carving Jack O’ Lanterns
Carving Jack O’ Lanterns is a beloved Halloween tradition. Make yours stand out with these cool designs!
These planetary pumpkins are out of this world cool! Even better? All the decorations are candy! Push 2 lollipops into the top of the pumpkin for antennae. Carve several small holes about 2/3 of the way up the pumpkin, and fill them with gumballs for eyes (make sure to add pupils!). For the mouth, use frosting to attach a sour apple or peach ring.
What’s cuter than a basket full of kittens? A pumpkin full of kittens! First, carve your pumpkin with a design of your choice. Then, add foam inside the pumpkin, so it is near the opening at the top, but not visible. Then, make the kittens using mini pumpkins. Black stock paper is great for creating ears, whiskers, and a nose, while black buttons make adorable eyes. Place the completed kittens on top of the foam, and add the top for a ‘purrfect’ decoration!
Creepy and cute, spider pumpkins capture the spirit of the Halloween season. First, find a pair of fishnet stockings, and wrap them around your pumpkin. Add googly eyes and small white triangles for teeth. Finally, use black pipe cleaners to create the legs. Voila – a wonderful, web of pumpkins!
Which one do you like the most? Are you planning on making a DIY pumpkin this Halloween?
