A Diamond in the Rough
April 29, 2008
I was bored, again, with tonight's show. I'm just not a fan of Neil Diamond and I thought that all the performances were only "OK." David Cook is still my favorite and I agree with Simon that David Archuleta made a smart choice with 'America.'
Let's talk about the show format for just one sec, it felt soooooo rushed. Ryan Seacrest was scrambling to keep it moving and Paula Abdul completely flubbed on the very first round of feedback. How did she think Jason Castro had performed twice? Hopefully next week with only four contestants and eight performances the flow of the show will be smoother.
I've been wrong just about every week but I think this week Jason Castro SHOULD go home. I say "should" based on the past couple of weeks' performances and last night especially. Please tell me if you agree or disagree with me, but does anyonelse feel like Jason isn't taking the competition seriously anymore. Maybe it's the way they're cutting his clips, but he seems so flippant about everything. Like he just doesn't care anymore.
Based on previous history I think Syesha Mercado will go home, just because she can't seem to catch a break. Poor girl!
If you need a performance recap, here's who sang what in Round 1:
Jason Castro -- 'Forever in Blue Jeans'
David Cook -- 'I'm Alive'
Brooke White -- 'I'm a Believer' David Archuleta -- 'Sweet Caroline'
Syesha Mercado -- 'Hello Again'
And, here's who sang what in Round 2:
Jason Castro -- 'September Mom'
David Cook -- 'All I Really Need Is You'
Brooke White -- 'I am ... I Said'
David Archuleta -- 'America'
Syesha Mercado -- 'Thank the Lord for Night Time'
All songs are from the Neil Diamond's Songbook.
We're getting down to the end, what do you think? Has your favorite changed? Who do you think should win? TELL ME! TELL ME!
