INTERVIEW: Jennifer Stone

Jennifer Stone burst onto the teen scene in 2007 when she landed the plum role of Alex Russo’s creative and kooky BFF Harper on ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’. “It was very funny.” says Jennifer of the audition process, “I had done previous work with Disney and got the call when I was back in my hometown in Texas to fly out the next day. It was very sudden. I went to network for Harper and three days later they called and offered me the part. It was nice. All very abrupt - the entire process. It was so sudden and the pace of the process was fast.”

So, how similar is Jennifer to her character? Is she really as zany and uptight as Harper? No way says Jennifer! “Harper is highly strung.” she says “When things don't go perfectly she gets bent out of shape. I would like to think I am not so tightly wound. I am pretty laid back. If things don't work out I'm like whatever. I think we are alike in that we are both a little zany. We can both be pretty crazy at times.”
