INTERVIEW: Freddie Highmore

British actor Freddie Highmore is only 14 but he's already starred in a bunch of films—and, he's so good at his craft that after he co-starred alongside him in Finding Neverland, Johnny Depp requested him for the role of Charlie in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! Last Christmas, Freddie starred in the titular role in Arthur and the Invisibles(which is out on DVD no—and if you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor and get it!) and, recently the rising star took time out from his busy schedule to answer Teenmag.com’s "hard-hitting" questions and they shared his answers with us!

Freddie Highmore

Age: 14

Sign: Aquarius

Birthplace: London, England

My house is: Not as close to school as I'd like.

The first thing I do every morning is: Well, wake up, look worriedly around my bedroom, then remember I’m in LA this week…

My cell phone brand is: Currently Samsung although when you’re filming they prefer you to use a mobile without a camera so that you aren’t tempted to take pictures.

About my pets: At the moment I’m away too much to have a pet. However, there is a big goldfish in our pond.

I exercise: At school and play football at weekends.

Lately I've been surprised by: The number of interviews people ask me to do and the totally dull answers I seem to give.

The cereals in my cupboard are: I just looked. Muesli, porridge, Weetabix, Shreddies and Cheerios.

Heaven on earth is: Time with my friends or family. Oh - and chocolate cheesecake! .

For dinner, I like to make: a phone call to the Chinese take-away restaurant.

I’ll eat sushi, but… Only to be polite to the hosts…

My coolest article of clothing: My most prized possession: A watch a friend gave me - if I’m allowed to call wearing a watch clothing.

Something Johnny Depp gave me. .

My TV screen is: Missing. I don't have one.

When friends come over, we: don’t seem to do anything much – but we have a great time doing it..

My first financial splurge: Well, when I’m 17 I hope to learn to drive and get a car.

Before I die, I want to: The best perk of being a celebrity is: live long, healthy, wealthy and wise.

travel – though I don’t really think I am a celebrity.

Celebrity whom I'd ask for an autograph: I’m not sure about the autograph thing. There are so many amazing people I’d love to meet, not all of them very famous. I read about this incredible guy who could multiply a sum like 3768 x 2897 almost immediately in his head.

Dream car: Is there an eco-friendly Ferrari?

People would be surprised that I: Don’t constantly live the life of a ‘celebrity’. I just go to school or if I’m filming I go to work.

Book I’m reading: The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

Favorite cartoon: Family Guy.

The DVD release I was most excited about was… Dan Radcliffe gave me 12 Angry Men and The Shawshank Redemption for my birthday. Now that is great acting. Saw Blade Runner last week - thought it was fantastic.

My iPod play list: My brother, Bertie, got lucky and went to Hawaii at Easter and swam with dolphins. He came back with this IZ guy’s music. I’m not sure if I love it or hate it but I can’t get it out of my head.

I can't start my day without: I don’t know. I guess I should say ‘without smiling at how truly lucky I am’ but then if you’ve got double mathematics, double really hard physics, double almost impossible chemistry to look forward to..!
