Great News For Good Luck Charlie Fans: GLT’s Nominated for GLAAD Award. Why?

Does everyone remember the episode of Good Luck Charlie, “Down a Tree”? Let us jog your memory. In the episode, Amy and Bob Duncan set up a playdate for their Charlie, with one of her new friends, who just so happens to have two moms. The couples don’t seem to get along seeing as Bob bores them with stories of work and one of the other mothers continuously cuts off Amy.

This episode of Good Luck Charlie broke new ground for the Disney Channel with the inclusion of a Lesbian couple. The feature of two-moms caused a bit of an uproar among mom-centered groups but hold on the uproar was totally worth it.

The series was just nominated at the 2015 GLAAD Awards for Outstanding Individual Episode. How exciting! “Down A Tree” will be against Doctor Who, Drop Dead Diva, Playing House and Elementary so it looks like they’ve got some competition.

The 2015 GLAAD Awards is known for recognizing movies, T.V. shows and other forms of publication that accurately include representations of the LGBTQ community and the issues affecting their lives.

The award will be held on March 21st in Los Angeles so don’t forget to vote.
